India is a huge country with different cultures and cuisines. And parathas are perhaps the most popular breakfast in India. This is especially true of the north where it can be found on the menu of practically every restaurant and eatery. Coming from north, even we have grown indulging varieties of parathas.

Liquid Paratha

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, finely chopped or grated
  • 1-2 teaspoon chili flakes (adjust as per your spice level)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or canola oil
  • 2 tablespoons coriander leaves, chopped
  • salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1+½ cups water (little more, if required)

PREPARATION

  1. Add wheat flour, garlic, chili flakes, coriander, and oil in a big bowl
  2. Mix well by adding a little water so that no lumps remain. Add remaining water and mix well
  3. Add salt and sugar and mix until well incorporated. Cover it for 5 to 10 minutes to set.
  4. Heat up a nonstick skillet on the stove over the low-medium heat. Pour ½ cup of batter, and make a thick spread in a circular form. When the upper part starts appearing dry, flip it over and cook the other side.
  5. Spray some oil. Keep flipping and cooking till you see brown spots on both sides. The paratha will puff automatically once it is cooked properly on both sides.
